The engine affectionately known as "The Mack" was a 1953 Mack pumper which we purchased
from the Laurelton Fire Department in Monroe County in 1972 for $5,000. This pumper had
the designation Engine 3221.This pumper was a convertable which had a large deluge gun,
twin booster reels, a 500 gallon water tank and a 750 GPM pump. This truck was taken out of
service in 1993 when replaced with the 1993 Tanker/Pumper 3231. The truck was sold to
Robert Heimer for $1,756. In the photo on top, Lee DeRuyter operates the pump in front of the
North Side Fire Department on Carter Rd. Below that you will see The Mack driven by
firefighter Ed Swart in a parade.
