Building Collapse at Seneca Foods In Geneva
On August 2, 2010 at 11:28am, the North Side Fire Department was dispatched to Seneca Foods at 346
Gambee Road in Geneva for a reported gas leak. North Side Command arrived on scene and was advised by
employees that a gas line had been struck and was leaking. North Side Command requested the White Springs
Fire Department to stand by in the North Side station.

Upon further investigation firefighters found that there had been a partial building collapse in building 2. The
White Springs Fire Department was requested to the scene and the Oaks Corners Fire Department was
requested to stand by at the North Side fire station. While on scene, a secondary collapse occurred. No injuries
were reported.

The Oaks Corners Fire Department responded with Engine 3211 & Rescue 3271 with a total crew of 18
firefighters under the direction of Chief Maney. A crew of 4 remained on standby in the Oaks Corners station
with additional apparatus. Rescue 3271 was requested to the scene with cold drinking water and a misting fan.
