1977 Ford Tanker.
The chassis for this truck was purchased new in 1977 for $11,900. The truck originally had a former
2,000 gallon fuel tank on the back until an 1,800 gallon stainless steel tank was added in 1982. This
truck featured a 500 GPM PTO pump and a large capacity rear dump. The truck also carried our
portable pond and jet siphon. This truck was given the radio designation 3242. The truck was sold in
2005 to the Chelsea Oklahoma Fire Department where it is still in service. This truck as well as the
1985 Pierce engine both needed to be replaced. Due to financial constraints we had to sell both units
and consolidate into a single pumper/tanker which is the 2005 Pierce Contender.
This photo was taken during the 1980 Oaks Corners Fire Department carnival parade. You can see
