Oaks Corners Fire Department Purchases Heavy Rescue

On Monday 03/29/10 the Oaks Corners Fire Department placed a new/used heavy rescue truck in service. The
truck was purchased from Command Fire Apparatus in Pennsylvania and was previously owned by the Bayport
NY Fire Department. It is a 1986 GMC Saulsbury rescue truck featuring a 15,000 watt generator, 8 exterior
scene lights, inside command post, winch, air system with reel, and seating capacity for 12 firefighters. The
truck was purchased for $34,500 and has 9,900 original miles on it. This truck will carry a full compliment of
accident victim extrication equipment including the Hurst spreaders, cutters, & ram.
