On June 30, 2008 at 6:03am, the Oaks Cers Fire Department, Phelps Ambulance, and Lyons Ambulance ALS were
dispatched to the intersection of Rt. 14 & Rt. 318 for a reported two vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Initial
reports indicated a head-on crash. Oaks Corners Chief Reifsteck & Phelps Ambulance were enroute within minutes.
Chief Reifsteck arrived on scene and confirmed a two vehicle accident with one patient who was injured.
Oaks Corners Engine 3211 & Rescue 3271 responded with a crew of 11 fire & EMS responders. Chief Reifsteck had
Rescue 3271 respond to the NYS Thruway Exit 42 trailer lot to set up a landing zone for Mercy Flight. Lt. Scott
Loomis was in charge of landing zone operations.
