Patient Extricated in County Road 6 Crash
On January 09, 2011 at 1132 hours the North Side Fire Company and Finger Lakes Ambulance were dispatched
to 3139 County Road 6 for a crash involving a vehicle striking a utility pole. Units arriving on scene reported a
person trapped in the vehicle. North Side firefighters began extricating the patient from the vehicle and they
requested the Geneva Fire Department to respond to the New York State Experiment Station to set up a landing
zone for Mercy Flight.

Because of the prolonged extrication, North Side requested an Engine from the Oaks Corners Fire Dept. to stand
by at the North Side station. Due to difficulties with the extrication, North Side requested extrication equipment
from Oaks Corners to the scene, and Fire Police to assist with traffic control. Oaks Corners Heavy Rescue 3272
responded immediately with the duty crew of 4 under the direction of Deputy Chief Mike Reifsteck. Engine 3211
handled the stand-by with a crew of 6 under Chief Maney. Rescue 3271 responded for the traffic control with a
crew of 4 under Asst. Chief Arnold.

The patient was freed from the vehicle at 1226 and transported to the hosp[ital by Mercy Flight.
